Favorite Family Memory

Let's keep each other up to date with family goings on here. But I just saw on TV they were talking about favorite family memories, so I thought we could start with that. Might be fun? So one of mine is this. We didn't have any money and always had so many kids. So my dad, who worked for National Airlines, and loved it, used to take us to Perimeter Rd by Ft. Lauderdale airport and park the car. We would all sit and watch the planes coming in and taking off. We'd love to lay on the hood of the car and see the planes coming right over our heads, so LOUD!!! and so close! Ah, those were the days........

Once strong memory I have as a child was that a couple of times during the summer months all the family members (on my grandma's side) aunt angie; aunt joe; aunt jean ....would meet a a picnic area. Problem was that for some reason grandpa felt he had to be there by 6 AM just so that we would have the best tables and grills. Aunt Angie and grandma would start coffee and cooking bacon and eggs on the grill and eventually everyone else would show up....we stayed for hours

We used to do that too!! I told Pete that was another favorite memory for me!! My dad would grill at the beach, right by Bahia Mar. I loved it!! We'd stay for hours, my dad always had a few beers and 'fell asleep' in the sun and got terrible sunburns!! haha
